About Us

Mission Statement

The Office of Student Care and Concern (OSCC) is committed to the mission of the University of Connecticut by engaging in proactive and collaborative approaches to identify, assess, and mitigate student behaviors that indicate a possible threat to self or others. OSCC provides individualized support, non-clinical case management, and connection to resources to promote student success while prioritizing safety and well-being. OSCC staff strive to balance the needs of the individual student with the safety and welfare of the University community by using widely accepted best practices within the field of Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM).
